Adam Rennie is Director and Co-Founder of Adex Asbestos Consultants, bringing over 20 years of hands-on experience in asbestos surveying, analysis, project management and strategic advisory work across the UK and internationally.
Adam began his career in 2006 as a trainee analyst and surveyor in North West England, developing his technical foundation within local government, social housing and university environments. This grounding shaped his practical and methodical approach to asbestos risk management.
In 2007, Adam was recruited by Adams Environmental Ltd in London, where he worked on some of the most prestigious and technically demanding buildings in the UK. During this time, Adam led surveying and analytical works on the Quadrant 3 redevelopment of Regent Street, the redevelopment of Tate Britain, and delivered major projects at Imperial College London and for the City of London Corporation.
He developed particular expertise in historic and listed buildings, successfully completing complex works at the Royal Courts of Justice, National Gallery, Boston Manor House, West Horsley Place, Chiswick House and Hanover Terrace. Working within sensitive heritage environments requires precision, discretion and absolute regulatory compliance, qualities that continue to define Adam’s approach.
As his career progressed, Adam moved into senior project management, then becoming a director and board member. He oversaw multi-million-pound surveying, analytical and remediation programmes. He was responsible for major redevelopment schemes including BBC Television Centre, Quadrant 4 of Regent Street and New Zealand House. He also developed extensive experience within live hotels and theatres, where safeguarding occupants and maintaining operational continuity are paramount.
Adam has advised at governmental level internationally; supporting asbestos decommissioning works in the Seychelles and advising the Kosovan government on asbestos regulation and management frameworks. He is currently leading a five-year project in The Gambia, building and training a fully operational asbestos removal team while contributing to the development of sustainable asbestos management policies. The objective is not only project delivery, but legacy in leaving behind structured capability, training pathways and effective governance.
Adam’s career has been built on technical competence, trust and long-term professional relationships. At Adex, those values are embedded into every commission.
